4/12/2013 2 Comments Keep Moving Forward .....~ In order to move ahead with our lives, we first must take the steps that sometimes lead us into a part of our lives where our past experiences are examined. This exercise in reviewing our past experiences, allows us to understand our life and our life lessons. Sometimes we need to look back to our earlier lives, to the time when we were young to provide us with insight into what is missing for us today. As we move throughout life, our authentic expressions are sometimes not acknowledged amongst the demands and responsibilities of our daily lives. Take a moment and think back to the time when you were a young child. How would you describe your energy, your true essence, your authentic self? “The significant business of your life is alive and well, awaiting discovery, within your very own soul. You and I were born to come into ourselves as complete and distinctive persons. Accepting this, we build a valuable life.” ~ Marsha Sinetar – educator and author Think back to a time that you felt empowered by your life, your energy, your being and your abilities to navigate this life. Recall a time when you felt joyful and fulfilled in your daily being. Examine that time and recall the reasons for feeling all those good things that enabled you to flourish within yourself. When did your heart feel the most free, and the most joy? Observe how you feel when you look back upon that time. It can be painful at times to re-connect with those things that we have long ago let go of. It can be painful to uncover unfulfilled dreams and desires. It is sometimes easier to not think about or even to dismiss altogether the fanciful ideas of our youth, than it is to truly look upon those times and those dreams; that have not as yet manifested and recognize and accept some of the emotions that come of this, ie: sorrow, regret, loss, disappointment. Some of us have never allowed ourselves the opportunity of having a dream perhaps because of our own self-imposed limitations, family imposed limitations, economic limitations; fear of failure; perhaps we have tried in the past to achieve a dream and were faced with obstacles and delays only to push that dream aside and then never to look upon that dream or even yet, dream another in its place. What are some of your desires or dreams that you have pushed aside from the past, you no longer allow yourself to want….to dream….?
